Don’t forget about watching soccer games! The European Champions League final is this weekend and you can bet that all the bars in France and Spain will be showing the match. No better way to meet the locals than to watch a great soccer game in a small-town bar.

It’s a pretty spectacular region of France! I also like that there are very few American tourists there–mostly Europeans. Kind of refreshing for us, used to be being treated like the “ugly Americans.”

Hi Phil – It’s a rather unusual arrangement of river bank, water and tree trunks that I describe, but fish-centric people will find good pike-watching perches here. I really do want to encounter the wels, though.
