Russian River, North Coast, Lagunitas, Boonville, Mendocino Brewing, these breweries brew the finest beers I've ever had, and some are legendary for spearheading original and revival brew styles. You haven't had a DIPA until you've had Pliny the Elder. You haven't had a Russian Imperial Stout until you've had Old Rasputin. Mendocino Brewing makes what I consider the most well-rounded, satisfying pale ales. Any West Coast beer enthusiast should be familiar with these breweries.
