After reading Joe Caputo’s piece on the new Written in Bone exhibit, how would you like to try your hand at forensic science? Come to the Natural History Museum where you can get your hands on bona-fide bones and learn how to tell the stories they hide. Free. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Weaving, and other such handcrafts, have been around for hundreds of years—but unfortunately, they seem to be losing cultural relevance as we enter the digital age. Come gain an appreciation of this ageless art form from Juanita Velasco who will demonstrate how to use a backstrap loom and teach you how to make a friendship bracelet. Free.
