Weekend Events: DC’s Latin Music Scene and American Food!

Saturday, November 28: Metro Mambo: Latin Music in D.C.

The D.C.’s Latin jazz and dance music scene have long reflected Washington at its most diverse, involving such noted African-American bandleaders as Hedrick Mitchell and Maria Rodriguez. Today, join radio personality Jim Byers, host of WPFW 89.3 FM’s “Latin Flavor: Classic Edition,” for this program highlighting a multicultural Latin music scene that has thrived with quiet intensity and great popularity in the nation’s capital. Sunday, November 29: Maize of the Americas

Swing by the American Indian Museum where you can celebrate America’s unique foods in the final day of this three-day festival. Learn about the trade routes that helped form our unique culinary culture and enjoy lots of hands on activities. This event runs from November 27 to November 29. American Indian Museum, 10:30 AM-4:30 PM
