The Deed of Gift for the three costumes is signed by Ms. Wilson. She identified the costumes as being worn by The Supremes in 1966-67. Inside each costume, is sewn the name of its wearer, Cindy Birdsong, Mary Wilson, and Diana Ross. Officials at the National Museum of American History report the following:

As a Collectors' Society and Fan Club of all things Supremes, we house photographic images of all known Supremes gowns ever worn on television, stage, theatre and concerts. The costumes in the article are totally unknown to us and our catalogue of all known surviving artifacts. We have put the image to the most avid of all Supremes collectors including former members of the group who are completely unaware of the dresses.
