I am etenally curious about big Americian names and how they seem to shape the Ideas of the publc perception so often through art and portrait making- Martha Stewart like Conrad Black all be it Canadian, live in worlds where their actions have no real impact on their lives- They do as they wish and then go to camp- I would like the Smithsonian to re think who they honor- I would like the art community to re think portrait- Personally I think one of my most beloved Icon lives on Signal Hill in Newfoundland- It is a large bolder at the edge of the Atlantic having been there long before I ever knew it existed and I wish to pay homage to its exitance because that simple but complex act of nature has changed me profoundly, Martha only reminds me of how much T.V people watch
If you wish to see the bolder I will send it along at a other time. Cheers,Cathia Finkel,cfinkel@yhoo.com
