In my opinion, President Eisenhower was the last great American President. He clearly saw the dangers of allowing the military/industrialists to control vast amounts of our economy through secret deals, rigged bids and the constant demand to upgrade wepeons systems. He warned us and we weren't listening, which led to too many wars, conflicts, police actions, military interventions, etc. Too many U.S. Servicemember's deaths and injuries. Too much of the nation's wealth wasted on killing, rather than uplifting children, providing for our neediest citizens and maintaining our infrastucture. Our foriegn policy, too often, has been to tell other soverign nations "Take our bribes and do as we say, or we will make war on you." And the American Masters of War profit from this policy. That was what Eisenhower foretold, and what we have wittnessed coming to pass.
