There is no evidence on either side of the argument concerning whether or not Thomas Jefferson fathered any of the Hemings children, according to a recent study published by a group of iminent presidential scholars. So, why does the Smithsonian not include both sides in reporting on this controversial subject? The answer is that the Smithsonian no longer follows the truth wherever it may lead, but is beholden to political correctness and special interests.

Monticello, originator of this display along with a similar display at Monticello and their guest video indicate that Thomas Jefferson not only fathered one Hemings child but possibly ALL.

There is NO proof of this whatsoever and both Monticello and Smithsonion should REMOVE those charges from their film and displays. The American public does not need inaccurate displays of this sort.

See web pages: www.tjheritage.org and www.jeffersondnastudy.com for FULL details of this DNA Study and read book reviews about those inaccurate accusations. One of the books is a recent full study of the DNA tests in "The Jefferson-Hemings Controversy: Report of the Scholars Commission". There are others exposing this inaccurate portrayal of Mr. Jefferson.

The public deserves better from these organizations which use some taxpayer funding.
