I enjoyed reading your post. I will be interested in what will eventually be posted on American Indian music and film clips. I am a retired ethnomusicologist who specialized in American Indian music.

Great post! Thanks for much for this thoughful and far-ranging narrative that draws connections across the very different soundscapes of indigenous peoples. Marshall's Ju/'hoansi archives is indeed an Institutional treasure--one that is unfortuantely much under-appreciated. Michael Pahn's insightful post not only speaks to the unique value of this moving image collection, it also reaffirms the fact that the Institution's greatest treasure is to be found in its highly knowledgeable and dedicated staff.
