New Comic Series Returns to Jurassic Park

Artwork from the forthcoming Jurassic Park: Redemption series.
It is going to be a long time before the Jurassic Park franchise returns to the big screen, but if you really need your JP fix, comic publisher IDW will be launching a new series this summer. Called “Jurassic Park: Redemption,” the new story will bring back some characters from the first film that have not had to tangle with dinosaurs for a while:
It’s been 13 years since little Tim and Lex Murphy escaped from the island of Isla Sorna, and recent public opinion has reversed with the world clamoring for authorities to re-open Jurassic Park. With the help of their controversial Granddad’s inheritance and their own sharp wits, a secret deal is struck to open a new park. This time they’ll get it right… right?
I bet you can imagine what happens, especially since the first storyline will run five issues and there are plans for more. (And, if you just can’t get enough dinosaurs-run-amok mayhem, IDW will be re-releasing the entirety of the original Jurassic Park comic-book series.) To find out more about the new series, check out this interview with series writer and co-editor Bob Schreck.

I like this cover more than the Frank Miller one (although this might be an interior page.) But I’m left wondering, which dinosaur this is… plus it’s missing some anatomy;)
Best,
Brett
ooh,i wonder when they start coming out. they look interesting.
AHHHHHHHH OMG OMG OMG
*ahem*
I wholeheartedly dig this. I’m glad JP nostalgia is finally kicking in.
Now that this is underway, when can we expect Jurassic Park vs. Predator?
Mr. Booth, can you make it happen?
Woah. This is mega epic news. I loved those Topps JP comics as a kid and teen. I am really on nostalgia overload hearing this!
Tim and Lex were on Isla Nublar, the site of Jurassic Park. They were never on Isla Sorna, aka Site B. I hope the comic itself is more aware of the source material.
I saw a few images from this a few days ago, and I’ve got to say… I’m not too impressed with the artwork. Not even taking accuracy, or lack of it, into account, it just wasn’t good. Too bad, as it’s the single biggest reason to read something like this. And now I can’t find the darned link!
Is that supposed to be Carnotaurus?
I used to love the Topps comics, even though the various Raptor series got a little repetitive. If the new comic is as good as the Green Flame arc of Return to Jurassic Park, I will be pleased.
Kaje,
Sorry, those are 2 other companies properties (IDW and DarkHorse,) but it’s a great idea:) I’m working at Marvel and Dynamite.
Best,
Brett
