Repetitiveness Nearly did my head in enough for me to turn it off. Graphics were fantastic but again the same few eye opening 3d graphics were repeated to the point of being ridiculous. They really milked these for all they were worth.

"And, speaking for myself, programs that showed the process of science were what inspired my interest in paleontology."

Ditto. Jurassic Park was my major catalyst, but it wouldn't have done much without assistence from the PBS series THE DINOSAURS.

Speaking of which, the CGI these shows use (with the exception of high quality animation like in the first Walking with Dinosaurs) does nothing to draw in watchers. Compare that with the 2D animation from THE DINOSAURS- that stuff was fantastic!

A major weakness of shows like this is that they always seem to assume the viewer might not have been watching from the beginning and constantly recap what they talked about before after every break, and constantly tease what's "coming up." Budget constraints aside, that's why they're so repetitive (and what does it say about the broadcasters' faith in the show if they don't think anyone is going to actually watch the whole thing?). I would love to see a DVD release that was free of that constraint--sure, maybe you'd end up with less than half the length of the TV version, but at least it would show some respect for my time.
