Back in the Eighties, anyone stuck with HBO was subjected to a whole slew of really horrible space opera movies that used, and reused, and re-reused, the effects footage from Corman's "Battle Beyond the Stars" (1980). My younger brothers and I used to play a game when one particularly bad example, "Space Raiders" (1982), would come on, where we'd keep tabs of how many times the same ship explosion was re-used for different dogfights.
