Not directly to do with any of these movies, but it's interesting that the Natural History Project would have been canceled because of another Dinosaur movie being in development. These days it seems like studios intentionally release similarly-themed animated movies at or around the same time.

Creation did get made, in a roundabout way. It was included as a special feature on a King Kong DVD released a few years ago, being a slideshow of pre-production art and a voiceover. While prehistoric animals would've played a larger role in it, King Kong has a far stronger story.

I never realized Zeppelin vs. Pterodactyls was planned as an actual film. That's a sad loss, although my biggest gripe with The Land That Time Forgot was the use of puppets rather than stop motion. And thanks for confirming Timegate wasn't a figment of my imagination. I remember stumbling upon it in a book about the best movies never made, but I have never heard anything more about it. I've always been fond of dinosaur-hunting stories -- I have a feeling one will get made someday, hopefully not for SyFy.

Also, I think you may soon be adding Dinosaurs vs. Aliens to that list, given Cowboys vs. Aliens bombed at the box office.

ps. There's some footage of The Primevals on Youtube. Stop-motion dinosaur men? It's a crime this movie wasn't completed.

I've loved the old Willis O'Brien movies King Kong and Lost World forever, and always wished they'd finished Creation, so that's my top pick. I, too was a fan of the Dinosaurs Attack cards and comic book, and wished they'd turned that into a movie as well. I'd love to see what they could do with that story today with modern visual effects.

On the topic of dinosaur films that never were, I also have always wanted to see Dino-Riders and Xenozoic Tales (Cadillacs and Dinosaurs) on the big screen, althrough as far as I know, there have never been plans to adapt these as theatrical features.
