I'm honestly surprised the Doctor Who producers haven't tried to take another whack at throwing in dinosaurs since the series was rebooted. Comparatively speaking, the show's got a much bigger budget now, and the BBC has proven several times over in the last decade or so that they can make genuinely good-looking prehistoric animals for television.

Personally, I think it's high time the Doctor took another whack at Mesozoic mayhem.

This typical Dr. Who silliness only reminds me of why I was never a Dr. Who fan. Ugh!

Growing up in Australia Dr. Who was a cultural phenomenon, especially for GenX.
I'm pretty sure the dinosaur episode was only aired once then never shown again.(might be wrong)
It's pretty common to say something has 'Dr. Who Special Effects', meaning wobbly sets, daggy visuals or just plain clumsy.
Saying that, they did some marvelous stuff on a very limited budget, and there were certainly some things which left an impression on a whole generation because they nailed the creepiness/scariness or wow factor.
