A Paleo Proposal
Paleontologists Lee Hall and Ashley Fragomeni have just set their engagement in the sweetest, geekiest way I have ever seen.
On June 2, Lee took Ashley out to the fictional “Snakewater, Montana” field camp from the beginning of Jurassic Park. Since both are fans of the film, Ashley didn’t suspect that Lee had a grander motive for bringing her out to the movie spot. I won’t spoil Lee’s technique here—watch the video—but to me it looked like the perfect paleo engagement. Congratulations, Lee and Ashley!

CONGRATULATIONS to two great people!
Congratulations to my best friend and the man of her dreams!!!
So excited for them!
Congrats Ashley and Lee!!!! I got all teary watching this! What a couple of geeks that are absolutely perfect for each other!
Oh, heck. Even I got misty-eyed at that. Congrats to Ashley and Lee!
Admittedly, after she said “yes,” I was expecting him to reply with “clever girl.”
Seriously, though, congrats to both.
Oh that’s too cute. He’s almost as geeky as my husband. The stones of my engagement ring are polished fossils we collected together in Bynum, Montana, on our dinosaur road trip in 2008.
He wanted to propose during the intermission of Walking With Dinosaurs in 2009 but the jeweler hadn’t finished making the ring in time.
When we eloped in 2011 we went to Thermopolis Wyoming because we’d heard it had one of the best dinosaur museums in the States. It was certainly a memorable trip. What better way to honeymoon than taking in dunkleosteus, supersaurus and a world-class archeopteryx?
Sorry, paleogeek ladies… the most romantic paleogeek out there is taken!
Anyways. Congratulations Ashley and Lee. May you have many happy digs ahead of you!
CONGRATULATIONS! LEE YOU’RE AWESOME!
I hope a triceratops doesn’t crash their wedding.
