		<description>Why did the extinction have to be one thing or another, instead of a combination of reasons.  It&#039;s known that stress causes a decrease in immune system function.  If the environment was changing faster than organisms could adapt and thus causing stress, it makes sense that more disease and illness would occur simultaneously, thus contributing to other factors.</description>
