"Cinematic dinosaurs are awesome to behold, but filmmakers have not yet found a way to make us really care about their individual lives."

I've never seen it so I have to ask... did March of the Penguins do it, and how?

As much as I hate to admit that I was involved in this abomination of a film, I was in the position of giving advices in how theropod dinosaurs should be designed. I have stressed numerously about the pronated forelimbs, the lack of feathers (in dromaeosaurs), and did a lot of work to help the design team understand the latest scientific theories redarding how certain theropod dinosaurs looked like and should be reconstructed....

Well, as a result, it was a waste of time. The artistic team were people who had no knowledge in dinosaurs, so showing the simplified versions (I made) of published scientific papers and literature was a mistake from my end, and the people in charge of the movie simply ignored my complaints when I received the dinosaur designs.

I hope NO ONE watches this 'film'.

It would be difficult to make a feature film about any clade of non-human animals. When someone figures out how to make an entertaining feature film about Molluscs! or Echinoderms! or Chordata!, then maybe we'll get an entertaining feature film about dinosaurs.

I was going to comment that Raptor Red would make a great film, but uh, I see we've all already gone there.

So, Hollywood, if you're looking for a property to adapt to attract dinosaur nerds, you've been informed.

"As much as I love dinosaurs, I have to wonder if it’s even possible to make a compelling feature-length film from a dinosaur’s perspective."

There's always the possibility of "Raptor Red" being made into a movie.

I would imagine that a film adaptation of Bakker's "Raptor Red" (albeit, with certain paleontological inaccuracies cleaned up) could be quite good. Perhaps film-makers should look to 1988's "The Bear" for cinematic inspiration...

Tech's probably not "there" yet but I think an adaptation of Raptor Red has potential to be a good movie.
