My interest area is food images in the fine arts - literature, painting, performance and installation arts, film, sculpture and so forth. Best reads are Kurlansky and his oysters and Ken Bendiner.
I'm a long time in the food and/as culture field but a beginning blogger (see The Minnesota Ethnic Food Book and Molokan Oral Tradtion). I'm also retired, so that places me outside any circle of collegiality with its challenging dialogues and banter. Not to mention some measure of wise- ass remarks, also called peer review. So I welcome conversation online. You can see a sample of my busy-ness at www.foodinthearts.blogspot.com
as part of a project called "Artists at the Table."
Last interesting meal experience was in June at John's Grill in SF
Cheers.
