I planted several kohlrabi and now its time to harvest them. I thought they were beets at first. I am going to boil them in slated water and see if they are good.

I'm German and live in Texas. I grew up with Kohlrabi and sometimes miss it. We used to have it raw with dips for BBQS in the summer and when it got colder cut in the shape of fries, boiled in salted water, and served with a butter/flower/water sauce. Delicious!! Now, if I could only find some here... You really put me in teh mood for Kohlrabi :) By the way, it probably smelled like cabbage because Kohl = cabbage :)

I love kohlrabi - it's underappreciated!

The "kohl-slaw" makes a great taco topping if you're looking for an Asian fish taco.
