Agree with the above for Odd Duck and East Side Kings.

Torchy's: baha fish taco and green chili pork. We eat there about once a week. For breakfast taco's, we go to Joe's Bakery on 7th or Taco Deli - huge fan on the papas (liquefied potatoes).

El Naranja on Rainey Street for interior Mexican.

The free food means that you ate it out of the Squarespace truck. While I appreciated that they were having locals give aware their awesome food I still wanted their full menus.

For East Side King you should have ventured over to the east side to try either of their locations which have different menus, and Gordoughs, well, that's more of an annual trip that results in self loathing, but the Squarespace truck only had three options while their permanent location offers around twenty artery clogging choices.

As for Torchy's. The fried avocado taco is life changing. If you wanted a breakfast taco in this town, not that theirs are bad, TacoDeli is what I swear by.

Glad to read you dropped by some of Austin's finest! If you're ever in town again, feel free to shoot me an email, and I'd be happy to show you around a bit more.

Sadly, many of the trailers had limited menus during SXSW for ease of service. Many of them have so much more to offer than you may have seen. If you're curious as to what else is out here, check out our site.

I am sure there were limitations due to festival happenings, but you really need to hit up odd duck. Probably one of the best trailers with inventive food that happens to be almost all local. Also have heard really good things about peached tortilla.

As for barbecue, hit up Franklin on east 11th for brisket.

Some of the Austin trucks are mobile. You can find them using the TruxMap iPhone app which has a realtime map of all ATX food trucks.

Love Austin food trucks! I agree Torchy's is overrated here in ATX, but you definitely ordered wrong. If you make the rounds again, try any of the non-breakfast items. My particular favorites are the Fried Avocado with Poblano Sauce, Trailer Park Trashy, and Crossroads with Chipotle Sauce.
