I read the article relating to this in Smithsonian magazine. Both the article and this interview are amazing and inspiring. I am hoping either this season or the next to begin growing wheat, to build an earth oven on our property, and to begin baking breads. So thankful that I stumbled upon this article and resources, absolutely amazing!

I too love bread, especially made from flour I mill myself. On Page 61 of the Dec. '11 SMITHSONIAN, is a photo of Jack Jenkins pedaling a small flour mill. I would like to contact Mr. Jenkins about obtaining such a mill. Can you send me his address or e-mail contact? STL

Loved this article! A bonus to get your instructions on baking with this flour! Am going looking for this grain. My father grew wheat but my mother baked with GM flour from the store!? Her bread, though, inspired my husband to marry me! Thanks for sharing. I look forward to this adventure and sharing with my gluten-free needy friends.

A while back my wife's uncle suggested I grow some wheat. I'm making my first attempt and planted seeds earlier in December. And here I thought this was a somewhat unique idea. Perhaps it still is for an urban setting.

Thanks for the article and more so the contents. The timing could not have been any better for me. The Black Winter Emmer is truly beautiful. Perhaps I should give that a try in Dallas. And with multiple family members and friends turning to gluten-free products, the Einkorn Wheat sounds like a dream. I'm definitely putting einkorn flour on my grocery list.
