I am retired (90 in May, 2012); and have been an ND Fan since hearing ND play on the radio in 1930's. I was able to visit South Bend several times with my wife and children; and even attended 3 or 4 games as guest of So. Jersey Alumni Association. We stayed overnight on the campus at the 4 story dormitory that once was for priests.
ON one occasion we attend "midnight basketball"...To me there is no other College that ranks above ND - in either sports or academics.

I loved this story and of course we in Indiana are very
proud of Notre Dame and their great school - not just for
their sport teams but for the fine graduates they produce.
We had the opportunity of hosting K. Rockne's great nephew
here in Lafayette as a host student at McCutcheon H.S. He
was proud when Notre Dame ask him to come to a banquet in
honor of their famous coach. He lives in Norway and his
parents owned a hardware store and had an old Studebaker in
their garage, covered well to preserve. Sharon
