Luo Binwang

The poet Luo Binwang–one of the "Four Greats of Early Tang" and best known for his "Ode to the Goose"–launched a virulent attack on the empress, saying: "She slew her sister, butchered her brothers, killed her price and poisoned her mother. She is hated by men and gods alike, unwelcome in heaven and earth." Wu, characteristically, admired the virtuosity of Luo's style and suggested he would be better employed at the imperial court.
