Thanks, Sue. I do hope you get a chance to see the sculpture in action, but when the Phillies have a big lead, of course.

I absolutely loved this article! I think the Marlins' uniforms are hideous, but they certainly fit in this crazy circus of a ballpark. My daughter and I laughed hysterically at the writer's perceptions of the newest abomination in baseball. I wish I could visit, just to say I've been there. I pity the fans who have to put up with all of this. I'm glad I'm a Phillies fan who can visit a beautiful place like Citizens Bank Park, and enjoy a game of baseball, not a theatrical show.

Too bad they didn't go with a more Art Deco approach to the architecture of the new Marlins ballpark. White stucco and geometric shapes with lots of tinted glass and neon.

Great article Randy. Bill Veeck (rhymes with "wreck") was a true innovator. You forgot about "10 cent beer night". I think that game was a forfeit. I carry a picture of Eddie Gaedel at work. Good for a laugh. Of course you know what the catcher said to the pitcher as they huddled before pitching to Gaedel, "keep it low"
