It is unfortunate but I have watched every person I know allow their political views to be swayed by the media.

Ah well... We are supposed “to be our brains” these days. Neurobollocks and hogwash indeed. It reminds one of phrenology: “the theory that one can deduce a person's character, intelligence etc from the outer appearance and shape of his skull; art of doing this”.
These kinds of theories and conjectures deserve a place in Martin Gardner's “Fads and Fallacies in the Name of Science” or in “Science: Good, Bad and Bogus”.
Neurobiology is an interesting science, but any links to psychology, sociology, criminology and the like will always lead to disastrous beliefs.
By the way, what's called 'political science' is no science at all.

Very interesting. I grew up surrounded by Republican relatives and viewpoints, yet I eventually leaned towards the Democratic Party after acquiring a passport and seeing other parts of the world. If political neuroscience is to be believed, perhaps no amount of social conditioning by relatives can overcome the gray matter.
