Kathleen Burke is a senior editor at Smithsonian. The creator of the Smithsonian Notable Books for Children feature, she has served on the judges panel for Young Adult Fiction for the National Book Awards and the Los Angeles Times Book Awards. When her own daughter, now a college student, was young, Kathleen loved nothing more than settling in with a stack of books to read together. A particular favorite was Debi Gliori’s My Bear Babysits.
