I'm guessing George's promotion to vice-president was gone by the next ep.

The Jetsons obviously own two cars, maybe more. There's the little one George uses to commute to and from work, and the larger family model with the sub-units.

You know, if wages had continued to rise along with productivity, and today the median wage was $90K a year, maybe we would have flying cars already.

The *only* reason I can imagine wanting to go to some glitzy 24/7 surrealistic playland in the desert would be to see Frank and Dino perform at the Sands. Oh, for a time machine.

Otherwise, whatever the Jetsons' version of Space Hawaii, that'd probably suit me better.

The image problem Vegas has isn't an image problem, it's a reality problem. No matter how much you try to make the place look like Disney World, you can't hide the slot machines and showgirls. Sin City will always be Sin City.

Granted, in recent years Vegas has matched the over the top surrealism of Disney, but the adult aspects of the place {with the flyers advertising strip clubs and escort services everywhere) are more than visible. And that's kind of the point.

Vegas is supposed to be the one place where adults get to play adult games without anyone saying anything, it's just that no one wants to say that out loud. So we are all supposed to pretend that people really are just going there to watch magicians make large predatory felines appear and disappear, just like the 1960s folks pretended to go there just to see Frank and Dino perform at the Sands. Cultural hypocrisy never goes out of style.
