		<description>Human beings present such a devastating challenge to the other creatures on planet earth that conscious awareness and significant attempts to mitigate this impact must be considered with virtually every human activity that impacts the natural environment, or it appears that the current rate of extinctions will continue to increase.  The real question is whether or not our rush to &#039;progress&#039; can be more thoughtful and less destructive?</description>
