I am dubious of these claims. Having suffered migraines for roughly the last decade, my experience is that the change in barometric pressure is the culprit. The fact that lightening was present around the area is indicative of converging cold and warm cells. This weather phenomenon typically lowers the barometric pressure drastically. It is the drastic change that causes my headaches. Not the lightening.
