What about a radiant energy weapon? Cook 'em on the wing, ready-to-eat as they fall. A good way to test terahertz laser weapons. Or microwave.

Locusts are of course edible, indeed they're a high protein nosh. Small problem: they're not kosher.

A rabbi back in the early days solved this problem by ruling that locusts were indeed kosher if the wrinkles on their stomachs spelled out the word "truth," "emet" in Hebrew.

The good news is that "emet" is pretty much a bunch of slightly bent up-and-down lines, so pretty much any bunch of wrinkles on a bug's tum will be as clear and legible as a Circle-O hecksher kosher symbol.

If you mean from good to bad, it's Dr. Jekyll to Mr. Hyde, not the other way around. Also, you should have said "the Israelis have SMITTEN the swarm." Smithsonian needs a copy editor.
