I've actually visited friends who run a coffee farm in Brasil, and I noticed a lot of bees during my stay. I also noticed they seemed to stay active almost until sunset, much later than the bees in my garden, further north. Now I know why - the caffeine kept them going. Fascinating stuff. This makes me wonder whether mosquitoes might have a taste for caffeine too, whether they bite us to get at our caffeine. I've always been one of those people mosquitoes really go for and I've always been a coffee drinker. I mentioned this idea to a friend just now and he said "haha, they want smart kids!"
