Bad handwriting, trouble with rhyming words, difficulty reading and writing in an otherwise bright child who is succeeding in other ways is a classic sign of dyslexia. Experts at Yale (and others) believe up to 20% of our children have it. Dyslexia is a neurological issue. It doesn't get better over time. Our film, The Big Picture: Rethinking Dyslexia is a wake up call for this country, because allowing these kids to struggle only erodes their self confidence. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBsYF9dSMCc Also, check out the Yale Center for Dyslexia & Creativity website for more information.
