I have an abiding concern that bacteria taken into space on pieces and parts, on the skin or in the guts of astronauts that are then returned to earth may be altered in a fashion seen with salmonella. What assurance can NASA or ?? offer that a "space mutant" bacterium or six haven't been introduced to earth after spending six months or so on the ISS?
