Globes come in all shapes, materials and sizes, whether you’re looking for one to grace a fancy old libraries or a beach party. But when Peter Bellerby, an artisan globe maker in London, wanted a globe for his father’s 80th birthday, he couldn’t find anything satisfactory. So he made one. And then he never stopped making them.
Bellerby never thought he was going to get into the globe industry, but it turns out the process of making high end globes is both fascinating and beautiful. This short film follows Bellerby as he does his work:
