World’s Strongest Paper

Paper cuts just got a lot more serious.

Scientists have figured out how to turn a material almost as tough as diamond, called graphene, into sheets of paper.
The sheets are a few millionths of a meter thick, bendable and, of course, ridiculously strong. The material might be used in airplanes, cars and sporting goods, though no definite plans are in the works.

The finding was published in today’s issue of Nature, on regular, flimsy, good old fashioned pulp paper.
