I am surprised and disappointed that you did not mention the Bradley Knitting Company. They were the largest manufacturer of knitted swimwear, and outdoor wear in general, in the U.S. during the early decades of the 20th Century.

Also interesting is comparing men's suits to women's. In the 1970's, men's suits seemed about on par with women's suits in terms of how much fabric was used and how much skin they covered up. Now, you could probably make 2 or 3 women's swimming suits with the fabric from 1 men's swimming suit. Men, way covered up todsy, women, way uncovered. Strange. We're all people.

Quite a few grammar/spelling mistakes (or just plain typos) in the article! Don't have an editor?

Anette Kellerman was not the first women to swim the English Channel. She was the first women to attempt the swim but she never made it. Gertrude Ederle was the first women to swim the channel in 1926.
