Another connection to War Shirts in general is the book written by Bently Spang titled "War Shirt". This book is written for young children. His Modern Warrior Series is currently on exhibit at the National Museum of American Indians http://nmai.si.edu/exhibitions/infinityofnations/contemporary-art/262745.html. I used your great post and several other resources in my classroom yesterday. I am hoping some of the students will take the opportunity to see Chief Joseph's War Shirt while it is in Billings, MT.
